Gospel artist Laolu Gbenjo recently expressed his views on the variety of music genres, emphasizing that if everyone exclusively sang gospel music, the world would be dull.
In an interview on Channels Television’s *The Morning Brief*, Gbenjo highlighted the importance of musical diversity. He explained that different occasions call for different types of music, such as love songs at weddings and celebration praise during joyful events.
“We have to be honest with ourselves. If everybody sang gospel, the world would be boring. That’s the truth. If someone is getting married, you wouldn’t expect me to sing gospel throughout. There are love songs and celebration tunes. It’s all about celebration,” he said.
Gbenjo also reflected on how the COVID-19 lockdown inspired him to explore a new style, Alujo Special. During that period, he created personalized songs for individuals who sent in their photos, crafting unique pieces in his studio.
He further shared how his father, a pastor, played a significant role in his musical journey: “I started singing because my father was a pastor,” he added.
