Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has appointed Barr. Aber Serumun Deborah as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG). This appointment follows the resignation of Prof. Joseph Alakali, who submitted his resignation on Monday, citing the need to address personal matters.
The announcement was made by Sir Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Alia, in a statement on Tuesday.
According to Kula, Barr. Aber Serumun Deborah is a seasoned solicitor and arbitrator known for her initiative and strong analytical skills. She is a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellence, aiming to positively impact the success and growth of the government.
A graduate of the University of Jos and Nasarawa State University, Barr. Aber is expected to bring valuable experience and a trustworthy record of service to the administration. Governor Alia has urged her to stay focused and align her work with the administration’s vision as outlined in the working document, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the state’s interests in her official duties.
The appointment is effective immediately.
