Magistrate Court Convicts 32 for Breaching Ekiti Environmental Sanitation Laws

A Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti has convicted 32 individuals for violating the Ekiti State Environmental Health and Sanitation Laws during the routine sanitation exercise on Saturday.

Magistrate Olubunmi Bamidele ruled that the offenders failed to comply with state environmental regulations. Twenty-one of the convicted were fined, while the rest were sentenced to community service. Eleven others were discharged after the court reviewed their cases.

In a related statement, Ayodele Aluko, Director of Environmental Health and Sanitation at the state Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, urged residents to maintain regular environmental hygiene to prevent disease outbreaks.

Aluko emphasized that consistent cleanliness is vital for public health and encouraged citizens to adopt regular sanitation practices.
