Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Sunday, attended the Graduation and Prize-Giving Ceremony of Pacesetters’ School in Abuja, where he called for a comprehensive review of Nigeria’s educational curriculum to include entrepreneurship training.

Speaking at the event, Atiku emphasized the need for deliberate investment in education as a tool to unlock the country’s human capital, promote national unity, and drive development.

“Education remains the most powerful weapon for human development. It empowers young people to become engineers, doctors, or whatever they aspire to be,” the former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stated.

Drawing from his own life experiences, Atiku credited his personal and professional success to the strong educational foundation he received. He recalled being taught by American Peace Corps volunteers in 1961 after British teachers left Nigeria, describing their influence as pivotal in shaping his academic journey.

“That experience inspired me to adopt an American-style curriculum in the schools I’ve established,” he added.

Atiku encouraged the graduating students to stay focused and committed as they pursue higher education, urging them to embrace lifelong learning and innovation.
