Deputy Speaker Kalu Celebrates Former Governor Ikpeazu at 61, Praises his Leadership

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has commended former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, for his inclusive and democratic leadership style during his tenure.

Kalu made the remarks in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, in celebration of Ikpeazu’s 61st birthday.

He praised the former governor for fostering a peaceful political environment and upholding the principles of free speech and democratic engagement.

“Governor Ikpeazu’s administration accommodated opposing views and respected the right to free expression, allowing critics to speak freely without fear of persecution,” the statement read.

According to the Deputy Speaker, Ikpeazu’s humility and willingness to engage with people from all walks of life earned him respect and admiration across Abia State.

Kalu also acknowledged the developmental strides made during Ikpeazu’s tenure, particularly in infrastructure, which he said laid the groundwork for sustainable progress in the state.
