Millions Lost: Minister Reacts to Kano NCC Park Looting

The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, has expressed dismay over the destruction of a technology hub in Kano, which was set to launch soon.

The Digital Innovation Park, aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s technical talent accelerator program (3MTT), was reportedly set on fire and looted during Thursday’s protests.

“It’s disheartening to report that our Digital Innovation Park in Kano, which was scheduled to launch next week to support the end3MTT program, has been destroyed and looted by protesters,” Tijani posted on X.

This incident is part of broader unrest in Kano, which also saw protesters targeting the Nigeria Communication Commission Industrial Park.

Tijani noted that the destruction hampers key initiatives, including the upcoming buildathon holiday maker program for secondary school students.

He described the damage as a significant setback for advancing technological skills and creating job opportunities for the youth.
