The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded over 73.67% of the results from the Edo governorship election onto its Result Viewing Portal.
3,329 out of 4,519 polling unit results from the state’s election have been uploaded so far.
Previously, the Edo Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Anugbum Onuoha, had assured that the election results would be transmitted electronically. He made this statement during an interview with Arise Television on Saturday, explaining that only poor network connectivity could delay the transmission to the Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
“We have trained BVAS operators, and they are ready. BVAS is used to accredit voters, allowing us to know the total number of eligible voters at each polling unit. After accreditation, voting will begin, and at the end of the process, the results will be counted and uploaded to our IReV,” Onuoha stated.
