On Sunday, there was a strong security presence at the Edo State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the collation of results from the Saturday governorship election began.
Nigerian Army personnel set up roadblocks 500 meters from the office, restricting access to all roads leading to the area.
Vehicular movement was halted, and only accredited individuals were granted entry after undergoing thorough screenings by both the Nigerian Police and military operatives.
INEC had announced that the collation of results from the state’s 18 local government areas would start at 10 a.m. on Sunday. (NAN)
