‘A Crazy Situation’: Ejuke Shares Horrible Experience with Super Eagles in Libya
Chidera Ejuke has recounted his experience during the Super Eagles‘ ordeal at the airport in Libya.
Ejuke and his teammates were held at Al Abaq Airport earlier this week, stranded for several hours without food or water. Ultimately, they decided not to honor the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Libya and were allowed to return to Nigeria.
“It was a crazy situation that we didn’t expect. We couldn’t do anything; we were locked inside the airport,” he told Dario de Sevilla. “We were confined for about 16 hours, which felt like a long time. We had brought some water from Nigeria and a few snacks from the flight.”
He added, “We were a little scared, but we all supported each other to avoid losing our minds.”
