EPL: Mourinho Responds to Man Utd’s Termination of Sir Alex Ferguson’s Contract
Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his thoughts on Manchester United’s decision to terminate Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassadorial role with the club. Mourinho believes that Ferguson holds a special place in the hearts of United fans that transcends any formal position.
Ferguson was appointed as an ambassador after his retirement from management in 2013, but the recent decision by new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe to end the contract, reportedly valued at around £2 million per year, has raised eyebrows.
“My relationship with Alex has always been amazing and incredible. When my Netflix documentary comes out, you’ll understand why I have such deep respect for him,” Mourinho told reporters.
Regarding the termination of Ferguson’s role, he stated, “I don’t know the details of the situation, but ultimately it doesn’t matter. Sir Alex possesses the most important thing: the love and respect of every Manchester United fan around the world.”
Mourinho emphasized that this affection is far more significant than any ambassadorial position or financial compensation. “What truly matters is the love and respect he has earned from the fans,” he concluded.
