NPFL: Former Super Eagles Forward Ideye Poised to Join Rivers United
Former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye is close to finalizing a move to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Rivers United.
Ideye has begun training with the Port Harcourt club this week. Rivers United head coach Finidi George expressed optimism about the striker joining the team, stating, “There is every likelihood that he’ll join us.
He wants to give back, and that’s the most important thing. He has that hunger, similar to what we’ve seen with Ahmed Musa, and if he’s willing to do that, we’ll welcome him.”
Ideye was part of the Super Eagles squad that clinched the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations title in South Africa and has played in top leagues across France, Ukraine, England, Greece, and Switzerland.
