Transfer: Chelsea’s Maresca recommends loan move for new signing

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has advised summer signing Marc Guiu to seek a loan move for the upcoming season to gain valuable experience.

Maresca believes that a loan spell will benefit the young player, who was acquired from Barcelona for €6 million after turning down a new contract offer from the Spanish club.

Despite joining Chelsea and starting pre-season training at Cobham, Guiu is reportedly not seen as ready to make an immediate impact by Maresca.

Spanish media outlet Esport3 suggests that Espanyol is a likely destination for the loan move.
