Popular British TV personality Piers Morgan has harshly criticized Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag, calling him an “idiot” for pushing Cristiano Ronaldo out of the club.
According to NIGERIA NEWS 247, Ronaldo, 39, had a falling out with Ten Hag and left Manchester United under controversial circumstances in late 2022. Across his two spells at the club, Ronaldo made 346 appearances, scoring 145 goals and providing 64 assists.
Morgan didn’t hold back, stating, “Ten Hag is a complete idiot, and he has been since arriving at United. He speaks nonsense and is now talking about Harry Potter or something. He’s exactly what Ronaldo described in that interview, which led to his departure from United.”
Morgan went on to say that Ten Hag struggles to manage top players, citing Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford as examples. “He can handle the lesser-known players, like those he brought in from Ajax, but not the stars. Shockingly, the team has gotten even worse than last season.”
He added that Ronaldo would have outperformed the club’s current strikers if he had stayed, proving his worth with Portugal. “Ronaldo is the greatest player ever, and that’s why he’s the top scorer. He’ll reach 1,000 goals.”
