Governor Alia Appoints Director-General of BPP and Establishes Boards for State-Owned Tertiary Institutions

Benue State Governor, Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has authorized the appointment of a Director-General for the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) and named members to the boards of state-owned tertiary institutions.

According to a statement released on Monday by Sir Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, these appointments are effective immediately.

Dr. Akwonya Adadu, currently a lecturer at Benue State University, Makurdi, has been appointed as the Director-General of BPP.

The newly appointed council members for Benue State-owned tertiary institutions are as follows:

– Benue State University:
Sir Paul Chukwuma (Chairman/Pro-chancellor)

– Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo:
Dr. Demian Anyam (Chairman)

– College of Education, Oju:
Prof. Member George-Genyi

– College of Education, Katsina-ala:
Prof. Uketor Gabriel Moti (Chairman)

– Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi:
Prof. Okpe O Okpe (Chairman)

– Akperan Orshi Polytechnic, Yandev:
Dr. Victoria Pila (Chairman)

– College of Health Technology, Agasha:
Dr. Bem Vangerwua (Chairman)

Governor Alia expressed confidence that the appointees, chosen for their distinguished service records and extensive expertise, would enhance the quality and reputation of the state’s tertiary institutions.

He urged them to prioritize the state’s interests in all their official duties and congratulated them, wishing them a successful tenure in their respective roles.
