Benue Police Intensify Security Operations in Apa, Gwer West After Deadly Attacks

The Benue State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Emenari Ifeanyi, has stepped up security measures in key flashpoints across the state, especially in Apa and Gwer West Local Government Areas, following recent deadly attacks.

According to Nigeria News 247, suspected bandits recently launched fresh assaults on communities in Apa Naka, Gwer West LGA, resulting in multiple fatalities.

In response, CP Emenari has ordered the immediate deployment of additional tactical units to reinforce existing security personnel in the affected areas.

State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, explained that these reinforcements are intended to boost surveillance efforts, secure key entry and exit points, and prevent further attacks.

“The Commissioner of Police reassures residents of the Command’s steadfast commitment to restoring peace and security,” Edet stated. “He vows to pursue the perpetrators relentlessly and ensure they face justice under the law.”

She added that the police sympathize with the families of the victims and emphasized that every effort will be made to safeguard lives and property across Benue State.

The Command also urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to support ongoing operations.
