Nasarawa Police Rescue Abducted Monarch in Panwasa Mountains
The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully rescued the Sangarin Dari, who was abducted on May 28, 2025.
According to a statement from Police Public Relations Officer SP Ramhan Nansel, the rescue operation was conducted by the Command’s Search and Rescue Team following sustained intelligence-led efforts and community pressure.
The traditional ruler was freed unharmed around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, during a coordinated operation in the Panwasa Mountains near Mada Station. He was immediately taken to a medical facility for evaluation and has since been reunited with his family.
“Efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend the suspects involved in the abduction,” Nansel added.
Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, thanked the public for their timely information and support, which were crucial to the success of the mission. He also praised the cooperation between security agencies and local vigilante groups, highlighting that the rescue underscores the importance of community collaboration in fighting crime and restoring peace.
