Two Farmers Seriously Injured in Suspected Herdsmen Attack in Samuel Ortom’s village
Two farmers, Nensha Adeor and Kator Gbenge, sustained serious injuries following an attack by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen in Adeor settlement, Ndzorov Council Ward, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. The incident took place in the hometown of former Governor Samuel Ortom.
Local sources report that the attack occurred when the farmers confronted the herdsmen to prevent their cattle from grazing on and destroying their farmland. The herdsmen, allegedly armed with machetes, launched a violent assault, inflicting deep cuts on both men.
Medical staff at the General Hospital in Gbajimba confirmed that the victims are in critical condition.
NIGERIA NEWS 247 recalls that a similar incident occurred three days ago when another farmer from the area was abducted by suspected armed herdsmen and remains in captivity. No contact or ransom demand has been received as of this report.
Residents have raised alarms and are urgently calling on security agencies and the state government to step up efforts to protect communities and improve security in Ndzorov.
