In an official statement released on Tuesday, the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, dismissed the claims as completely false, stating that a detailed investigation found no evidence to support the allegations.

“There is no record or credible testimony indicating that bandits entered the university and raped over 30 female students,” Nansel said. “Our inquiries with school officials and students contradict that narrative.”

According to the statement, the police consulted with the university’s Chief Security Officer, Information Officer, and several students, all of whom confirmed that no such incident occurred.

“If such an incident had taken place, it could not have been concealed,” Nansel added. “Students would have spoken out, and school authorities would have raised the alarm. But none of that happened.”

However, Nansel acknowledged that a robbery incident took place on July 27 in the student village area. A female student, identified as Jennifer, reported the theft of her phone, power bank, and handbag. During the incident, a male student was injured while attempting to escape from the attackers.

“There was indeed a case of robbery, but no report of rape was made, and there is no evidence to suggest otherwise,” he clarified. “Claiming that 30 female students were raped is not only inaccurate but also grossly irresponsible.”
