Nigeria and UAE Reach Agreement on Visas — FG
The Federal Government announced on Monday that it has reached an agreement with the UAE, allowing Nigerians to access UAE visas.
Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, revealed this during a briefing with journalists following the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, chaired by President Bola Tinubu.
Idris also announced that the FEC has directed the Ministry of Budget to draft an amendment to the 2024 budget.
Additionally, he mentioned that the President will meet with labor representatives on Thursday to finalize the issues surrounding the minimum wage. Following this meeting, the President will submit the proposed minimum wage.
Idris emphasized that the federal government aims to set wages that will not lead to inflation. The FEC meeting discussed the general principles and parameters of the wage increase.
“Yes, there will be a wage increase, but the President is still deepening his consultations. The figures will be released to the National Assembly once finalized,” Idris stated.
This is a developing story. More details will follow shortly.
