Presidency Denies Reports of Rift: Shettima Not Sidelined by Tinubu
On Monday, the Presidency dismissed claims of a rift between President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Vice President, emphasized that Shettima is a key member of Tinubu’s administration who has the President’s “complete confidence and full support.”
Nkwocha refuted reports of any discord, asserting that the Vice President remains loyal to the President. In a statement marking Shettima’s 58th birthday, Nkwocha described claims of Shettima being sidelined as “illogical conspiracy theories.”
The statement read: “In a political environment where loyalty is often questioned, Vice President Shettima exemplifies dedication and commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His steadfast support and collaboration reflect a harmonious partnership, setting a positive example for their administration.
“VP Shettima’s recent commendation of President Tinubu as a ‘good soul’ and trustworthy leader is both sincere and genuine. His loyalty has been evident through his consistent words and actions, connecting with people across the country.
“Unlike past presidencies marked by public disputes between vice presidents and their principals, VP Shettima represents a refreshing change. He has proven to be a true partner to President Tinubu, diligently working to advance his initiatives and vision for Nigeria.
“The recent unfounded theories about the VP being sidelined are contrary to reality. As President Tinubu’s administration progresses, Vice President Shettima has played a significant role, bringing valuable experience and energy to support the Renewed Hope Administration.”
