Oba Ladoja made this known on Friday after a courtesy visit to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He explained that the visit was primarily to appreciate the President for his support.

The monarch noted that since his coronation as the Olubadan of Ibadan in September 2025, he had been eager to meet the President in Abuja.

Reflecting on President Tinubu’s leadership style, Oba Ladoja recalled the President’s record of economic reforms during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State, which he said significantly transformed the state.

Describing Nigeria as a complex nation, the traditional ruler nevertheless expressed optimism that Tinubu would replicate his Lagos success at the national level.

The former Governor of Oyo State stated that the country would be in a stronger position by the time President Tinubu completes his tenure in 2031, adding that the President understands the challenges facing the nation.

According to him, although Nigeria’s current challenges are significant, the country’s complexity surpasses that of any single state.

“The states now have more financial resources than we had during our time as governors and are better able to meet their obligations. The economy is being fixed, and we hope that by 2031, when he leaves office, Nigeria will be in a position we can all be proud of,” Oba Ladoja said.
