Senior Aide to Governor Sule Regains Freedom less than 24Hrs After Abduction in Lafia
Dr. Mohammed Egye Osolafia, the Senior Special Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs to Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, has been released less than 24 hours after his abduction.
Known popularly as Deedat, Osolafia was taken by unknown gunmen who attacked his home. The incident occurred late Saturday night, shortly after he arrived at his residence in Tudun Amba, Lafia, the state capital.
Eyewitnesses reported that the kidnappers fired shots into the air to intimidate residents before abducting him.
Governor Sule’s Senior Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, confirmed the abduction and described it as “sad and unfortunate.”
According to several security and family sources, Osolafia was freed unharmed on Sunday night. However, the details of how his release was secured, including whether a ransom was involved, have not been disclosed.
