Serbian President and Putin hold first conversation in over two years

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday, their first in two and a half years, just before deciding on his participation in the upcoming BRICS summit.

In a video message shared on social media, Vucic expressed gratitude to Putin for guaranteeing that Russia will supply Serbia with adequate gas for the winter. He also reaffirmed that, despite being a candidate for EU membership, Serbia will maintain its position of not imposing sanctions on Russia following the invasion of Ukraine.
