Edo NSCDC Commandant Gbenga Agun Dies Suddenly at Event in Benin City

The Commandant of the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gbenga Agun, reportedly collapsed and died on Thursday during an event in Benin City.

According to NIGERIA NEWS 247, Agun slumped shortly after delivering his keynote address at a program organized by the International Association of World Peace Advocates. He was immediately rushed to the Military Hospital on Airport Road, Benin City, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Neither the Edo State NSCDC Command nor the agency’s national headquarters have issued any official statement regarding the incident.
