2027: Opposition Threats Will Not Deter Us, Says Governor Nasir Idris
Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has declared that opposition parties will not prevent him or President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from securing re-election in the 2027 general elections.
Governor Idris made the statement on Thursday while receiving a delegation from the Argungu Emirate, led by the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammed Mera, at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
He dismissed threats and criticisms from opposition parties, saying their actions would not derail the current administrations at both the federal and state levels.
“There are threats here and there from the opposition, but all their actions will not prevent both me and President Tinubu from reclaiming our seats as President of Nigeria and governor of Kebbi State in 2027,” Idris stated.
He praised the efforts of President Tinubu in steering the country towards recovery and pledged to complement those efforts within Kebbi State.
“For my part, we are doing our best to restore the lost glory of the country under the President’s leadership and in Kebbi under mine — and we will never stop,” he said.
Governor Idris also reiterated his administration’s commitment to equitable development, assuring that all parts of the state would benefit from ongoing and future projects, regardless of political affiliation.
