Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirants and stakeholders to avoid overheating the political climate and adhere to due process ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting for the Nasarawa West Senatorial Zone held on Sunday in Keffi, Governor Sule assured party members that he will endorse his preferred successor at the appropriate time—without fear or favour.

He stressed his commitment to ensuring that the APC primaries in the state will be free, fair, and transparent to promote unity and progress.

“True political power comes from Allah, who alone determines leadership. But I also have the right to support someone. When the time comes, I’ll clearly name my preferred candidate, and I will not be afraid to publicly endorse who I believe should succeed me,” he said.

Governor Sule also praised the organisers of the meeting for fostering unity within the party structure and urged other zones in Nasarawa to hold similar engagements.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu, a former APC National Chairman, who also attended the meeting, emphasized that it is the Western (Keffi) Zone’s turn to produce the next governor in 2027, noting the rotation of power across zones.

“Keffi Zone governed for eight years, Lafia for twelve, and Akwanga is currently serving its second and final term. Therefore, the Western (Keffi) Zone should produce the next governor,” Adamu stated, urging unity to achieve this goal.

The meeting saw the presence of prominent APC figures including Prof. Abdulkarim Kana (APC Legal Adviser), Minister of Women Affairs Hajiya Imaan Ibrahim, and Mr. Abdulmumin Ari.
