Over 50 APC Members Defect to NNPP in Kano

No fewer than 50 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kibiya Ward in Kibiya Local Government Area, Kano State, have defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The development was confirmed on Wednesday by Balarabe Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, in Kano.

Welcoming the defectors, Commissioner Adamu Kibiya praised Governor Abba Yusuf’s administration for its commitment to good governance and development projects. He highlighted the government’s achievements in health, education, infrastructure, empowerment, and agriculture, which have directly benefited Kano residents.

“The NNPP will support you. Remain steadfast in ensuring the administration’s success,” the commissioner told the new members.

Speaking for the defectors, Yakubu Alhaji said they joined the NNPP in recognition of the party’s dedication to development and good governance under Governor Yusuf.

Kibiya Ward councillor Auwalu Sarki noted that more groups were expected to join the NNPP, commending the commissioner’s efforts in promoting the party and the governor’s policies in the local government area.

Sarki added that the commissioner’s work had been instrumental in attracting new supporters to the party.
