Wike’s Aide Dismisses Amaechi’s Popularity Challenge Against Nyesom Wike

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has dismissed a recent challenge by ADC chieftain Rotimi Amaechi for a popularity contest.

Amaechi had dared Wike to undertake a public walk from Abuja to Port Harcourt to settle who is more popular, expressing frustration over perceived disrespect from the minister.

Responding on Facebook, Olayinka told Amaechi to wait until the 2027 elections to see who truly holds sway, reminding that Wike is no “desperate man jumping from one party to another.”

He wrote, “Let Amaechi wait till 2027 for Wike to defeat him as he did in 2015, 2019 and 2023.”
