Wike’s Aide, Lere Olayinka, Blasts Deji Adeyanju Over Criticism of FCT Minister
Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has fired back at activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju over recent remarks directed at his principal.
Olayinka accused Adeyanju of seeking to benefit financially from the emerging opposition coalition, likening it to his alleged role in the 2015 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) social media campaign.
The clash follows Adeyanju’s criticism of Wike amid an ongoing war of words between Wike and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi. In a post on social media platform X, Adeyanju urged Amaechi not to engage with Wike directly, saying, “Coalition people should leave Wike and his dead PDP for me. Amaechi is too big to be responding to Wike… They should face other important and relevant issues.”
Responding on X, Olayinka launched a personal tirade against Adeyanju, alleging past misconduct and accusing him of leveraging political causes for personal gain.
“One online baseless lawyer… begging that they should leave Wike for him to handle. He wants to eat coalition money just like he ate PDP social media campaign money in 2015,” Olayinka wrote.
He also referenced the late activist Ariyo Atoye, praising his integrity while appearing to contrast it with Adeyanju’s conduct.
The exchange comes amid intensifying tensions between political figures ahead of the 2027 elections, with Wike and Amaechi publicly trading accusations and opposition figures consolidating efforts to challenge the ruling party.
