“Michael Owen Explains Why Arsenal’s Quadruple Dream Will Collapse”
Former England striker Michael Owen has played down Arsenal’s chances of winning the Quadruple this season, insisting the challenge will be too difficult despite their strong position across competitions.
The Gunners are still competing on four fronts after sealing a 4-2 aggregate victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final. Mikel Arteta’s side also sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League and topped their UEFA Champions League group with a flawless record.
Arsenal are also through to the fourth round of the FA Cup, where they are set to face Wigan Athletic.
However, speaking on talkSPORT, Owen warned that success in all four competitions remains unlikely.
“The league is obviously nearly wrapped up, and yes, they could win the Carabao Cup,” he said. “But the other two are going to be absolutely tough.
“Every other club will be focused on the FA Cup to try to salvage their season, and they’ll put out strong teams. As for the Champions League, it could be anybody’s.”
