Governor Diri, Bayelsa CP Urge Public Support in Rescue of Abducted High Court Judge

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has ordered all security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue Justice E. G. Omukoro, who was abducted by unknown assailants. The judge was forcefully taken from his vehicle near Kilimanjaro Eateries, opposite Ekeki Motor Park in Yenagoa.

In response, the Bayelsa State Police Command is collaborating closely with other security agencies to analyze surveillance footage and digital evidence related to the incident.

Commissioner of Police, CP Francis Idu Alonyenu, stated that a detailed crime-mapping strategy is being used to guide the ongoing rescue operation. He emphasized that this isolated incident should not damage the trust between the public and security agencies.

CP Alonyenu acknowledged the strong support from Governor Diri and the people of Bayelsa, noting that it has significantly bolstered the determination and capacity of law enforcement to ensure Justice Omukoro’s safe return.

He also urged members of the public to cooperate fully and avoid any actions that may interfere with the ongoing rescue efforts.
