PHOTOS; NDLEA Uncovers Drugs Concealed in Cerelac Baby Food Tins
Operatives from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have discovered illicit drugs concealed inside tins of Cerelac baby food.
Femi Babafemi, the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, revealed the find in videos posted on X.com on Sunday. He commented, “In their desperation to conceal and export illicit drugs, even tins of Cerelac baby food are not spared.”
Although the specifics of the operation and the identities of those involved were not disclosed, Babafemi used the occasion to advise the public to be cautious when accepting packages from others while traveling. He highlighted the dangers of unknowingly transporting illegal substances, reminding citizens that possession of such drugs can result in a 15-year prison sentence.
Babafemi also cautioned, “This is why we advise people never to accept packages of unknown content when traveling. Remember, possession means 15 years in jail! Seizures by #ndlea_nigeria.”
On July 21, NIGERIA NEWS 247 reported that NDLEA operatives had previously found illicit drugs hidden in incense candles and women’s clothing, intended to be smuggled through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
