The Federal Government has debunked reports claiming that the 2025 WAEC and NECO examinations are set to be cancelled, describing them as false and misleading.

In a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, Director of Press at the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Folasade Boriowo, clarified that the Ministry has no intention of cancelling either examination.

She emphasized that the 2025 WAEC exams were successfully concluded, with only a few isolated cases of malpractice, all of which were promptly addressed by the relevant authorities. The Ministry, she said, has not received any official report from WAEC, NECO, or any examination body indicating widespread irregularities.

“The claim is entirely fabricated, misleading, and intended to cause unnecessary panic and confusion,” Boriowo stated.

The public was urged to rely on verified sources for accurate information, including the official websites of the Federal Ministry of Education (www.education.gov.ng), WAEC (www.waecnigeria.org), and NECO (www.neco.gov.ng).

She further reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and credibility of national examinations and warned that individuals found spreading false information will be reported to security agencies for possible prosecution.
