In the statement, West attributed his controversial outbursts to a brain injury he sustained over 25 years ago in a car accident. “25 years ago, I was in a car accident that broke my jaw and caused injury to the right frontal lobe of my brain. No comprehensive scans were done at the time, and neurological exams were limited. The possibility of frontal-lobe injury was never raised. It was properly diagnosed in 2023,” he explained.

West said the delayed diagnosis contributed to significant mental health challenges, including his type-1 bipolar diagnosis.

The apology, which was noted as “Paid for by Yeezy,” comes nearly three years after the Jewish organisation StopAntisemitism rejected his first attempt at an apology, NIGERIA NEWS 247 reports.
