Bandits Attack Katsina Community, Kill Residents and Abduct Women, Children
Suspected bandits launched a brutal attack on Zagami community in Yankara Ward, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State on Wednesday night, killing several residents and abducting numerous others, including women and children.
According to a Thursday report shared by security analyst Bakatsine on X (formerly Twitter), the attackers stormed the village around 8:00 p.m. and began firing indiscriminately, sending residents into panic and chaos.
Tragically, a three-day-old baby was among those killed during the raid, while the infant’s mother was reportedly taken by the assailants.
Though the exact number of casualties and abductees has yet to be confirmed, local residents have described the incident as one of the most terrifying and deadly assaults in recent weeks.
As of press time, authorities have not issued an official statement. However, community members are calling for immediate intervention from security agencies to prevent further violence and restore safety in the region.
The Faskari axis of Katsina State has been a flashpoint in the ongoing battle against banditry, with residents repeatedly appealing for more effective security measures.
