Gunmen suspected to be bandits have shot dead Alhaji Gomina, a respected resident of Lade community in Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State. The attack occurred Sunday night shortly after the victim had performed Isha’i prayers at a local mosque.

Witnesses said Alhaji Gomina was ambushed on his way home and killed instantly before the assailants fled the scene. His death has left Lade and neighboring communities grieving, with residents describing him as a committed figure in both religious and community service.

The ongoing insecurity has forced many villagers from Patigi, Edu, and parts of Ifelodun and Ekiti LGAs to flee their homes, heightening fears of further displacement.
