Panic in Lafiagi as Prominent Agro-Chemical Dealer Abducted by Suspected Bandits

The Lafiagi community in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State was thrown into panic early Sunday morning following the abduction of a well-known agro-chemical dealer, popularly known as Alhaji Chemical.

The victim was reportedly kidnapped from his residence in the Taiwo area around 1:00 a.m. by heavily armed men suspected to be Fulani bandits. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers, who arrived on motorcycles, overpowered local vigilantes guarding the area with superior firepower before whisking Alhaji Chemical away to an unknown location.

Sources within the community indicated that the operation appeared to be a targeted attack, suggesting it was carefully planned.

The incident has intensified fears among residents about the deteriorating security situation in Lafiagi and its surroundings. Many have appealed to security agencies to launch an immediate manhunt for the kidnappers and to prioritize the safe rescue of Alhaji Chemical.

Residents continue to urge authorities to act swiftly to curb the rising wave of abductions destabilizing the area.

Efforts to obtain comments from the Police Public Relations Officer for Kwara State Command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, were unsuccessful, as calls to her mobile phone went unanswered at the time of this report.
