The Ondo State Police Command has launched an intensive operation to rescue Omoniyi Eleyinmi, a staff member of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), who was kidnapped recently.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, informed Nigeria News 247 on Tuesday that one of the kidnapped victims has been rescued, while efforts continue to locate and free the remaining victim. The abduction occurred on Monday evening when the victims were traveling on a motorcycle from Akungba to Supare Akoko.

According to the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the kidnappers ambushed Eleyinmi at his residence, firing shots into the air before forcibly taking him away.
