Ebonyi Invests N17.3 Billion in Airport Runway Rehabilitation

Gov Nwifuru inspects 140 housing units at Izzo and Amanze communities in Ishielu LGA

The Ebonyi government announced that it allocated N17.3 billion for remedial work on the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport runway in Abakaliki.

Governor Francis Nwifuru made this declaration during his first anniversary in office in Abakaliki. Upon assuming office, his administration cleared five months’ salary arrears owed to airport workers and completed the remedial work on the runway.

Additionally, major repairs have commenced on the terminal building and control tower. Governor Nwifuru emphasized the importance of security to development efforts and highlighted completed road projects aimed at enhancing rural economies by facilitating transportation of agricultural products to urban centers.

Notable among these are the Umuoghara Power Station road, Legacy FM road with concrete pavement, and Obvuduechi market-lziogo road. The governor also stressed the significance of creating an enabling environment for public-private sector partnerships to drive economic growth in the state.
