A fuel station along the Kubwa expressway near the Public Service Institute of Nigeria in Abuja caught fire on Thursday evening.

NIGERIA NEWS 247 learned that the fire started around 4:30 pm when a tanker was discharging fuel. The intense heat could be felt up to a kilometer away, causing confusion among commuters and passersby.

Emergency responders and firefighters arrived on the scene to combat the blaze, while security personnel cordoned off the area and restricted traffic to the speed lane of the 10-lane expressway. By 5:45 pm, a Federal Fire Service truck, having exhausted its water supply, was seen leaving for a refill.
