Governor Otti Cautions New Appointees Against Theft and Bribery
Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has inaugurated his newly appointed special advisers, heads, and members of government agencies, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
Speaking at the Government House, Umuahia, the governor underscored his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability. He admonished the appointees to uphold integrity, refrain from corrupt practices such as bribery or embezzlement, and ensure diligent service delivery.
Otti assured the appointees of his support, urging them to focus on their responsibilities without being swayed by criticism from opposition quarters.
He also emphasized equitable resource allocation across all sectors of the state, cautioning against favoritism and provincialism among the new appointees.
Among those sworn in were Kenechukwu Nwosu, appointed as Special Adviser on Education, and Green Amakwe, appointed as Special Adviser on Promotion. Additionally, chairmen and members of various commissions, including the Abia State House of Assembly Service Commission, Abia State Commission for Welfare of Disabled Persons, and Abia Civil Service Commission, were inaugurated during the ceremony.
