Guest Collapses, Dies at Niger Govt House in Minna

A man identified only as Gregory has died after collapsing inside a lodge at the Niger State Government House in Minna.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, August 2, according to a report from the Chief Security Officer of the Government House.

Gregory had reportedly gone to visit Sammy Adigun, Chairman of the Niger Food Security Systems and Logistics Company. However, upon arrival, he was informed that Adigun was not available. Shortly afterward, Gregory reportedly fell ill and collapsed.

Spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident, stating that officers from the GRA Division responded promptly and rushed Gregory to the IBB Specialist Hospital in Minna.

“Upon arrival at the hospital, the guest was confirmed dead,” the police said in a statement.

The deceased’s body has been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary, and an autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
