The Kwara State Police Command has arrested a 46-year-old suspected ritualist, Isiaka Adeniyi, following an attempted ritual involving a 10-year-old boy named Akeem Nurudeen.

According to Ejire Adeyemi Toun, the command’s spokesperson, the incident occurred around 17:30 hours in the Abab Oke Foma area of Ilorin metropolis. Adeniyi allegedly lured Nurudeen, who was hawking pepper, into a room under false pretenses of buying pepper. Instead, he covered the boy’s face with cloth and attempted to harm him with a knife.

Community members intervened swiftly, rescuing the boy and apprehending Adeniyi, who was subsequently taken into custody. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
