According to the police, the schools’ Human Resources Manager and Chief Security Officer reported receiving threatening WhatsApp messages on January 20, claiming explosives were planted on the premises. Security teams, including the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Counter-Terrorism Units, conducted thorough sweeps and confirmed the schools were safe.

Investigations traced the messages to Chukwem-Nenyem, a resident of Okota. Although he claimed to have lost his phone in November 2025, police records showed the line remained active. The SIM card was recovered, and authorities say he acted alone to create fear. The suspect is expected to face court charges.
