The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended four suspects accused of vandalizing electric equipment in Birninkudu Local Government.

The command’s spokesman, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud, announced this in a statement issued to NIGERIA NEWS 247. According to the statement, “The suspects are Usman Aliyu, Magaji Aminu, Sama’ila Badamasa, all from Zarenawa village in Birnin Kudu LGA, Jigawa State, and Abba Sama’ila from Bauchi State.”

Tijjani said the arrests followed an intelligence report received at the Birnin Kudu Divisional Office, which indicated that the suspects were seen late last Friday removing electrical and armored cables from an uncompleted building in the area. He explained that they are alleged to have been involved in vandalizing infrastructure, orchestrating criminal conspiracies, and committing thefts that have caused significant disruptions in the area’s electricity supply.
