Ondo Governor Swears in Six New High Court Judges
The Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, inaugurated six newly appointed judges of the state high court on Thursday.
The new judges are Justices Adebisi Daomi, Adeola Adegoroye, Justinah Kpemi, Happiness Demehin-Ogunbayo, Wumi Fabuluje, and Idowu Ogunwumiju.
During the swearing-in ceremony at the Cocoa Conference Hall in Akure, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that this event represents a crucial step in strengthening the judiciary and enhancing the administration of justice in the state.
He stated, “This is particularly gratifying for me, as it marks the second time in our administration that we have made significant judicial appointments. These appointees have excelled in the practice of law and the administration of justice in our state.” The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the independence of the judiciary, urging the new judges to perform their duties with “diligence, sobriety, courage, and the fear of God.”
In his remarks, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo, praised the governor for his respect for the judiciary and his unwavering dedication to the rule of law. Ajulo highlighted that Aiyedatiwa’s policies have consistently ensured that the judiciary is well-resourced for effective justice delivery, stressing the importance of collaboration between the judiciary, legal profession, executive, and legislature in enhancing the efficiency of the justice system in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the newly appointed judges, Justice Williams Daomi promised to uphold the high standards of the judiciary and serve as exemplary representatives. He assured the people of Ondo State that they would work diligently and dedicate themselves to their responsibilities.
