Otti Visits Family of Slain Soldier, Offers Condolences to Mother and Wife

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has paid a condolence visit to the family of CPL. Lucky Ikechukwu Ikpeama, one of the soldiers killed by unidentified gunmen at Obikabia Junction in Obingwa Local Government Area.

Cpl. Ikpeama, who was from the same village, Nvosi, in Isialangwa South Local Government Area as Governor Otti, was among the five soldiers ambushed and killed on Thursday, May 30, 2024. He is survived by a young wife, a four-month-old baby, and an elderly mother.

During his visit, Governor Otti reaffirmed his commitment that the state government would cover the educational expenses of the slain soldiers’ children up to the university level.

The governor was welcomed by the deceased soldier’s uncle, who informed him that the family has scheduled the burial for Thursday, June 13, 2024, after receiving approval from the army authorities.
