Suspended Abia Health Commissioner Ngozi Okoronkwo Resigns

The suspended Abia State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, has submitted her resignation to Governor Alex Otti.

In a press release signed by Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, it was stated that Governor Otti accepted her resignation and thanked Dr. Okoronkwo for her service to the state and her modest achievements in improving the health sector over the past year. He wished her well in her future endeavors.

“The Governor reiterated his commitment to transforming Abia State and reminded Abians that they gave him the mandate to assemble his team. This includes hiring, suspending, or sacking his appointees, as well as reshuffling his cabinet whenever necessary, to fulfill his promises to the people,” the CPS stated.

NIGERIA NEWS 247 recalls that the Abia State Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor Monica Ironkwe, and the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Chima Oriaku, also resigned from Governor Alex Otti’s cabinet last week. The reasons for their resignations remain unknown.
