Tragedy in Lagos: Body of Missing Man Found in Obalende Underbridge Canal

The body of a young man has been recovered from the Obalende Underbridge Canal on Lagos Island, several days after he was reported missing. His identity has not yet been released.

The deceased reportedly lived under the bridge and was known locally for involvement in illicit drug activities. Sources suggest he may have been under the influence of drugs prior to the incident.

Officials from the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) were alerted following the discovery, and the body was evacuated to Lagos General Hospital mortuary for further procedures.

A LAGESC source indicated that the man may have accidentally fallen into the canal, with his absence going unnoticed for several days. Authorities said investigations and documentation of the incident are ongoing.
