Two Killed, Others Injured in Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Road Accident

Two people have died and three others were injured in a road accident along the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode road.

The crash occurred around 11:28 am on Sunday and involved an Ash Howo truck with no registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry car with registration number APP478FS.

Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, confirmed the incident in Abeokuta. She stated that the rescue operation was conducted by the FRSC Zebra 50 team from the Ijebu Ode Unit Command. The cause of the accident was attributed to overspeeding and loss of control, leading to a collision between the two vehicles.

Okpe reported, “The crash involved an Ash Howo Truck with no registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry Car with registration number APP478FS. Five people were involved: one male adult and four female adults. Two people, one male and one female, were killed, while three females were injured.”

The injured were taken to General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, and the bodies were deposited in the morgue.

The Sector Commander, CC Anthony Uga, expressed condolences to the victims’ families and advised motorists to avoid overspeeding and to pay full attention while driving.
